Mirror, Mirror was kinda adorably cheesy. This isn’t what you’d call a good movie – the dialogue was horrendous in places, for one, and the plot doesn’t bear close examination. It was pretty, though, and delivered with a sweet earnestness that, for me at least, made up for its shortcomings. I enjoyed it, even when I was laughing at it rather than with it.
Also, there’s a Bollywood-esque song and dance number in the end credits. And the dwarves were pretty damn cool. And there was a line about focus-group-tested plot elements that almost killed me.
In sum, don’t expect much, but if you’re in the mood for light entertainment, you could do worse.
1. The Secret World of Arrietty
2. Hunger Games
3. The Lorax
4. Mirror, Mirror
5. John Carter
